About
Andrew Hobbs*
Andrew is an exceptionally well-versed Realtor, having helped over 250 clients purchase and sell properties and real estate investments, including condos, townhomes, houses, duplexes, multi-plexes, commercial strata, and even one hobby farm! He has facilitated condo sales in almost every prominent building in downtown Victoria and the surrounding area. Andrew has been an MLS Award winner since 2009, and an MLS Gold and Silver Award winner from 2010 until present
Besides being a Realtor, Andrew is also a certified French teacher and chess guru. He taught high school English in Paris from 1997-1998 and then, after moving to Taiwan to study Mandarin in 1999, he opened and ran a chess school in Taiwan from 2003-2008. (It’s still open and running today!)
Andrew and his wife Shu-Hui have two children, Jasmine and Joshua, and together, they enjoy camping, hiking, and cycling all over Vancouver Island. He still enjoys teaching languages, chess, and tennis, but most of his efforts are spent on teaching his kids, but he has taught (and will in the future) volunteer chess classes at Oaklands.
Since 2009, the Hobbs family has sponsored a boy name Abel in Malawi through SOS Children’s Villages. Over the course of his time as a Realtor, Andrew has donated to BC Cancer Foundation and their Ride to Conquer Cancer, MS Society of Canada, Operation Smile, Canadian Mental Health Association (Ride, Don’t Hide), and Alberta Fires Relief.
